Mini Vacation

On Friday we went on a mini vacation. We decided to use the 2nd night of Zach's R&R benefits and stay at the Grand with the kids. We got there just after 3 and headed to the swimming pool. We swam for a little while and then went and changed our clothes and headed down to dinner. Haley got a cheeseburger, Emmy and Luke got chicken nuggets and fries, and Zach and I got Mac and Cheese. After dinner we headed back up to the room to get warmer clothes on so we could go see the lights on Temple Square. Luke was so excited to ride the train. Haley not so much because of her experience and the train in August. But we all made it on and off the train so hopefully next time she won't care so much. We didn't spend much time seeing the lights because it was so cold. We headed back to the hotel and waiting in our room for the kids was some milk and cookies. We changed back into our swim suits and headed back to the pool. We swam for a little while and then headed back to the room. Luke thought the phone was such a novelty so he had to call Grandma. We got ready for bed and played games and ordered dessert. Then we went to bed. Haley had a bed to herself and Emmy and Luke shared the sofa bed. Luke woke up twice in the night. We think he wasn't sure where he was. Haley is quite the talker in her sleep so Zach and I didn't get much sleep. We got up after 8 and got ready and went down to breakfast. We all enjoyed a breakfast buffet. There were so many things to choose from. Emmy really enjoyed all the fruit. Luke had cereal and Haley had a lot of different things. After breakfast we went swimming one more time. We had to check out at noon and then we headed home. It was lots of fun to go and stay at the Grand with the kids. Although with how well they sleep at night I was so excited to put them in there own beds and shut their doors last night. It was a fun little get away even if we didn't go far.
