Candlelight Christmas

Last night we went to This Is the Place Heritage Park for their Candlelight Christmas. We started out with a train ride to Brigham Young's home where we met Brother Brigham and his 2nd wife Mary. The kids wrote letters to Father Christmas and some of us enjoyed some hot apple cider. We went out to the barn and saw some Reindeer and the kids also sat on Father Christmas's lap. Then we got back on the train and rode to the top of Main Street. We visited the Deseret News building and the girls helped make some Christmas cards. Next we went down to the school and were taught some dancing. Luke was my partner and it was sure fun. We were able to do a few crafts. We have a copy of the Night Before Christmas using the deseret alphabet. We even visited Santa's workshop while the elves were having a break and were able to build some train cars. We saw a live nativity, to which Luke all surprised us by knowing who the baby was.

We had a lot of fun and I'm glad we were able to go. I liked it much better this year then I did last year. The kids had lots of fun even if they are a bit tired today. We love that Grandma and Grandpa have the grandparents pass so that we can enjoy the activities at the park so much.

Here are a few pictures of some of the stuff we did. (Sorry if they don't look very good.... I forget my computer monitor's colors aren't the best, so they might not look too great.)

The girls with Brother Brigham and his wife Mary.

The kids sitting in the sleigh with Father Christmas.

Square dancing at the school.

And the rest of the pictures are in Santa's workshop helping to build train cars.
