I'm foregoing the right to tag anyone. It's interesting filling out a questionnaire about your mom that's intended for 5 year olds... makes you think.

the cuteness of Luke!

video

This morning Luke found the Friend magazine. He was flipping through the pages and stopped on one and then started to wave his hand in the air and say "dadadada" over and over again. It took us a minute to figure out what he was doing. He had opened it to the page with the new Latter Day Prophets song and was singing and leading the music. Such a cute little boy.

Shupe Anybody?

Anyone interested in a FREE Ryan Shupe concert? We sure are and we'll be there. They are performing in Saratoga Springs this Saturday night. Check out their website for more info. If you want to meet up with us there, then let us know. We have been looking forward to this since going to two of these last year. They are lots of fun and very family friendly... Hope to see you there.

So long to Political Parties

There's not much difference between the two on anything that matters anyway.

They will both raise taxes and increase spending.
They're both soft on immigration.
Neither will really change anything in Iraq that the other won't.

The only thing I see them disagreeing on are social issues (read: gay marriage, abortion, drug legalization, health care, etc.), and when was the last time a President had any real effect on social issues? Our pro-life President Bush had a Republican congress for 4 years, and a conservative Supreme Court for the last several years, and abortion is still legal. Roe v. Wade is still the "law".

What to do? What to do?

Can't wait to see the VP picks.

Lovin' the new place!

One of the perks of our little HOA here is a community pool (and exercise room and playground). It's not huge, but it's fun enough for the kids to play in. We went and tried it out Saturday night.Emmy hung close to the side.

Haley tried dog paddling on a noodle. She's showing some promise.
And Luke even decided to try and "get his feet wet", so to speak. He sure is a poser for the camera!

Schools OUT!!

Today was the last day of school for Haley. I am so happy that I don't have to get up early tomorrow and get all the kids ready and out the door by 8 in the morning. I can sleep in or maybe just stay in bed and rest. And one day soon get to the rest of the unpacking that needs to be done.

Haley came home with her end of the year report card and once again she has a perfect report card. She's done so good this year. We are so proud with how well she's done. She got to pick a place to go out for dinner tonight so we went to IHOP. She finished the year reading at a sixth grade level and just finished first grade. Hopefully next year will be a little more challenging for her, but I'm not holding my breath.

We aren't sure when she's going to start back to school since we haven't heard which track we are on. With the move we are going from a traditional schedule to year round. She could start the end of July or the middle of August. And Emmy will start kindergarten.

The Move

The move went smooth. We had a whole bunch of guys show up from our Elders Quorum and also some friends and family and everything was done so fast. We had the truck loaded before 10 and unloaded before 11. We even got it unloaded so fast that our new wards Elders Quorum didn't have to help.

Luke has survived a tumble off the end of his bed into toys and also a fall off of the porch into a bush. He did really good the first couple of nights in his own room and the toddler bed but not so great last night. Hopefully tonight will go a little better.

Haley and Emmy like it for the most part. Haley was a little sad because she didn't make any new friends her first week at church. But I'm sure that will come with time. She wanted to know why we'd been banished from our old ward.

Things are crazy right now since we still have so much going on in the old neighborhood but that will be over with soon. Thank goodness we only have six more days of school and two of those are short days.

We've done a lot of unpacking but still have lots to go. That will probably have to wait till the weekend if not after school gets out.

Anyway, thanks to anyone that helped. It was so nice to get it done so fast. And once we are really home and get more unpacking done we'll have to show it off. We love it here and are so glad we found this place.

Ogden Marathon

Zach ran the Ogden Marathon today. It was a little warm for a marathon. And because he took his cell phone with him I was at the finish line. It was so nice not to be fighting kids while waiting for him to finish. (Thanks mom and dad for taking them.) When Zach talks about running a marathon I usually pipe in saying something to the fact that I think he's crazy. But honestly I think it's pretty awesome that he could stand to run for that long, and he wants to do it again. I don't like running for 30 minutes so for me to run for 5 + hours I just can't even imagine. Good Job Zach, you've now completed two marathons....I'm proud of you. The pictures aren't great cause I only had the little camera and it's not as nice as Zach's but at least I got some.

Now with this over I can start to think about the move. Having the marathon this weekend has really stressed me out. Hopefully I can have everything done by next Friday so we can move on Saturday. I just might have to take the offers from people to help me get everything packed, even though I'm not sure I want to. The truck will be here around 8:30 Saturday morning. YIKES!!!

Moving Craziness!!

I don't like the fact that my house is in complete shambles. The walls are starting to look bare the closets and cupboards are getting cleaned out. Everything is crazy. Boxes EVERYWHERE!! I do like that I'm getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Things that were, for some odd reason, never unpacked when we moved here. I think that if I haven't needed it in the 4+ years we lived here then I likely won't need it anytime soon. I just hope I can get it all done and packed up in time for our move on the 24th.
