A night in the woods

Jill and Paul (Robyn's sister and her husband) and family went camping Friday night and invited us to come up for dinner and smores, and to make something in my dutch oven. We happily accepted, as I've been wanting to go camping for some time now and this would give us an opportunity for a lot of the fun with less of the work, and we'd get to come home and sleep in our own beds besides.

We headed up to Redman campground, between Brighton and Solitude ski resorts, and, I must say, it was absolutely a beautiful campground, one that I had never been to. I will be back. Anyway, in spite of one ROOOOARING thunderstorm, the dinners were good, the dutch oven candy bar cake was to die for, even if it did take forever to cook. Here's some pictures of the evening.

The afore-mentioned dutch oven, with something yummy brewing inside...

FUN! What a brilliant idea: go out and eat in the woods, come home and sleep in bed. The best of both worlds! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE camping and sleeping out, but this idea is so darn practical for a compromise that we just might have to give you another opportunity to use your dutch oven!
Have a great day!
