5 Jacobs, together
At the NICU they have a room called the "bonding room". This room they let siblings come into to get to know they're new baby before he comes home. This room is usually reserved for infants ready to come home within the next 48 hours or so. Today they let us go in with Haley and Emmy.

This is a little frustrating, because it appears as if he is doing so well, yet so far no one has mentioned anything about him coming home. It seems to us that the nurses get to decide if he's "in the mood" to try and suck down a bottle or if he's "too crabby" or "too tired" or whatever so they feed him through the tube instead, without even offering him the bottle. It seems to me that normal week-old babies don't necessarily eat every 3 hours, and they don't necessarily eat the exact same amount every three hours like clockwork, yet that is what is being expected of our little man. Also, when babies are home and being breast fed when they cry for it, who's to say how much they get or how often? It seems to me that if he were born today and doing as well as he is, he'd be in the "well baby" nurserey and be coming home on schedule with no complications whatsoever. I think we're going to have to have a nice long chat with the neonatologist tomorrow.
