Digital Scrapbooking?

I'm kind of thinking about starting to do digital scrapbooking, but I'm not sure if I really want to. So I have questions for anyone out there that is doing digital scrapbooking. What program do you use? Do you print your pages? And if so where and what is the cost? Do you buy a program or use stuff online? Any advice or websites I can get would be greatly appreciated. I haven't printed any pictures in over a year and so this might be why I'm kind of considering this. Plus I think if it were on the computer it would be less of a mess. (Have you seen my scrapbook table? Not usable!!!)

:)have toyed w/this idea, but love the feel of "real" embellishments too much to completely convert to digi. I do print free things and add them to my pages. Just save the image as a picture, or adobe file, and go from there.
That being said, I have heard [from my digital scrapper friends] that this will save you tons of space in your home, but take approx. the same space on your hard drive. ;) there are a lot of freebies [digital kits or embellishments and 'papers'] out there, and most are compatible with multiple programs.
You might have better luck getting info from a scrapping site [twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com comes to mind] where you can search for digital information.
HTH!

Hi Robyn! Just barely got your guys's site from Phillip today (took me long enough, yeh?)

Anyways, I've only done 1, yes, that's right, 1 page digitally. That's because it took me 9 FREAKIN' HOURS!

But...
I love it.

I used Photoshop CS2, and had a digital kit or two given to me by my friend who actually designs them herself (www.tinkeringink.com - but keep in mind that I think they are extremely overpriced).

And then you just copy from the kit what you want to use, whether it's paper, backgound, or embellishments, and paste them to your page that you're working on. And for each additional..thing you add on, you want to use a different layer. At least that's what I did.

Ask Zach to give you a quick tour of Photoshop, as he'll know what to do. I had to have Phillip show me a few times before I felt I could do much of anything. AND, having 2 computers helps with me being able to sit next to him and ask away while he's still doing what he wants on his own computer.

As for places to purchase downloadable kits...I like:

Pickleberrypop.com
twopeasinabucket.com
designerdigitals.com

Just to name a few. Now I've just got to DO something with the kits I've purchased! Let me know when and what you've done~ email them to me, and I'll email you mine too, when I finally put something together. (This is so long I should've just emailed you.) BYE!

Hey! I will send you an email with all my hints since I know I'll get going (and I'm not on my computer right now) and write a novel. The first page always takes a little while, especially as you get to know your program. I use Photoshop also (CS2 or CS3...I'm not sure which it is) and highly recommend it. There is a great page that gives you step by step instructions...I will email you the link. You can print a 12x12 page at Costco for $3. Yes,that sounds like a lot, but when you consider the time you spend putting a page together, printing photos, cleaning up, finding supplies, the money spent on supplies, it's probably pretty even. And if you like the look and feel of traditional embellishments (or want to use your stamps still) you can do a hybrid page...use digital and add traditional elements after you print your page. I have yet to do this, but am looking forward to building a hybrid page. I'll email you more when I have time and am at my computer!

I have been doing digital scrapbooking for almost one year now and I LOVE it!! I started using Photoshop Elements 5, which is the best program! I now use Photoshop CS3, but Elements is works just as well. I just sent an email to my friend about it and I would love to forward it on to you...it is pretty long and has a ton of information. My email address is angie5892@gmail.com. Email me with your email and I will forward it on to you. I do digital scrapbooking almost everyday, so let me know if you have any questions :). BTW...I am Zach's cousin's wife :).
