St. George

Zach decide to try and run the St. George Marathon again this year.  Last year he didn't make it through the lottery, but did this year.  Since it was fall break for school we decided to make a little vacation out of it and didn't have to take the girls out of school.  We left Wednesday night after getting everything out of the old house and making sure it was cleaned.  We got there around 11 that night.  On Thursday we just kind of took it easy.  Got some stuff for breakfasts and lunches while we were down there.  We also went and drove Snow Canyon and got out at one point and hiked a little.

Luke was being a goof.  We were trying to take his picture and he was being very goofy and giving us crazy poses.  He loved walking around on the rocks.

On Friday we spent a lot of the day with my friend Ally and her kids.  Our kids are very close in age and had so much fun playing together.  I so wish we lived closer so they could play together more often, but then maybe they wouldn't get along too well.  Our girls were even doing stuff we'd done as kids.  Like getting Luke and Laney to kiss, so cute.  I didn't take my camera with me that day so I didn't get any pictures.  For dinner we tried to go to Brick Oven but it didn't work out, so instead we went to Pirate Island.  It was okay food, but not my favorite.

On Saturday Zach got up bright and early to run the Marathon.  I was worried about him because his foot had been hurting.  I was so happy when I finally started getting texts from him so I knew how he was doing.  We got to the finish line area and only waited around for maybe 10 minutes before he came by.  He was high fiving and stopping and I was pushing him along cause he still had .2 miles to go and I had no idea what his time would be.  I was so happy for him when he told me he'd run it in 4 hrs 34 min.  He was shooting for 4:45 and even beat that with his foot hurting most of the time.

After the race I left with the kids and my parents to go back to the condo while Zach did whatever he wanted to do.  Get a coke, find his drop bag, check out the massage line...  We rested that afternoon and listened to conference.  For dinner we went to Brick Oven with Jill and Paul and two of their kids and my dad.  It was fun to go and eat dinner with some of the family even if the kids were a little crazy.

After dinner Zach took the kids and I back to Ally's, so we could see them one more time before we left on Sunday, and he went and took some engagement pictures.

On Sunday we got up and got ready to go and cleaned the condo.  Zach's foot was hurting so bad he wasn't able to put weight on it.  I was so sick of cleaning cause I'd just spent forever cleaning the old house, but got it done.  The kids weren't as good on the drive home as they were going there.  Luke only took an hour nap and then was pretty cranky the rest of the time.  It was really windy and the closer to home we got the worse the colder it got and we even got some rain on the way home.

I'm so glad we were able to have a little vacation.  I sure needed it.  With any luck it won't be long before we take another vacation down there....
