Top 5 Sporting Events

So I was listening to the radio on the way home from work yesterday, and the hosts were talking about an article on espn.com about the 101 sporting events to witness before you die. They were asking their listeners to call in with their own top 5 events they'd put on that list. Mine happen to mirror many of the top several in that article, but I list them here as well, for your reading enjoyment.

5. Summer Olympics opening ceremonies, wherever they happened to be.
4. The Rose Bowl (and I'm talking the event, not just the stadium)
3. The Tour de France... with my camera, near the finish line of each stage, following the greatest riders around the pinnacle of cycling.
2. Opening Day at Wrigley Field. Go Cubs!
1. The World Cup Finals... ideally in Germany or the US, but I'd go anywhere for this one.

There are some near misses, as well... Red Sox vs. Yankees at Fenway, Utah vs. BYU football, Masters at Augusta National, a football game at Notre Dame (Ru-DEE! Ru-DEE!), Courtside at a Jazz game, a Monday night football game, etc.

Very, very intriguing list - I think I would also have to have a round in the gallery at Augusta National on mine, or an infield seat at the Indy 500. Great topic, and very entertaining!

This has nothing to do with your post (or little), but I saw your comment on k8's blog and wanted to say...if you decide to be serious about a team for Wasatch Back next year, I am in! I would love to do it and I bet I know a few others who would, as well.

The Closing Ceremonies at the Winter Olympics were pretty awesome I must say. And being rinkside when someone wins a gold medal is pretty unforgettable as well.
